On February 2, 2004. KCUW went on the airwaves as 101.FM, broadcasting live from behind Wildhorse Resort & Casino.

During our first year of operation, we had over a dozen regular volunteers

KCUW welcomes our new Assistant, Jessica Winburn! Jessica, who joined us in July, will have a variety of duties pertaining to assisiting in day to day operations of our community radio station! Jessica has already began production of a yet to be named radio series of local historical events pertaining to the CTUIR, Local North West Tribes & some national native history pieces as well.
Jessica hosts a radio show Monday - Thursday 11AM-1PM, she will be taking requests via our studio request line! You can also email her about her show or anything else related to KCUW by going to our contact page.

KCUW is currently taking names for anyone who may be interested in being a remote sports broadcaster for the upcoming Nixyaawii Golden Eagles Fall & Winter sports seasons! No prior broadcast experience required. Volunteer must be very knowledgeable of the game being covered & must provide own transportation to local & away games. While this is a volunteer opportunity, KCUW will provide compensation for gas & one meal (One per broadcast day)
